When doing landscape design, particularly with perennial native plants, it is important to optimize plant selection based on a variety of factors: location, aspect, soil type, overall plant palette and most importantly MAINTENANCE. Yards with predominantly native plants require a very different type of maintenance than traditional lawn-based gardens.
